Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil

I have never used any face oils. I was feeling a bit cagey at first since I have combination-oily and acne-prone skin. I fear that it will worsen what's worse already. But I was wrong. This stuff has extraordinary power in a glass bottle. It may be pricey but it's worth every penny.

Cost: 2,550 (Rustans) = $50 (Nordstrom/Sephora)

*The  price is inclusive of tax, I think.

  • DETAILS from Nordstrom:

  • Natural astringent. 100% pure plant extracts. Clarins' exclusive blend of rosewood, geranium and lotus extracts purifies, tightens pores and refines the skin texture. Hazelnut oil softens, soothes and seals in moisture to prevent fine lines. Non-staining.
How to use: In the evening, after thorough cleansing and toning, apply a small amount to face and neck still damp with Toning Lotion, avoiding the eye contour. Gently dab face with a soft tissue to remove any excess product.
    • For oily or combination skin.
    • Preservative-free                                                         *photo from Sephora
    • 1 oz.

Ingredients from Sephora: Rosewood, Geranium, and Lotus Extracts: Purify and normalize. -Hazelnut Oil: Helps prevent moisture loss and signs of ageing.
Corylus Avellana (Hazel) Seed Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Parfum/Fragrance, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Salvia Sclarea (Clary) Oil, Belumbium Speciosum Flower Extract, Tocopherol, Citronellol, Linalool, Geraniol, Limonene, Citral, Coumarin, Benzyl Benzoate.

Clarins has three kinds of treatment oils and this Lotus Oil is for those people with oily or combination skin. I kept on reading reviews
  • and asking people for their feedback on this. So far, they all gave it a thumbs up.

  • Ponderous on the budget I must say but if your skin needs all that pampering , you really have to invest big time. At the end, your skin will really thank you.

  • Before I bought this, I asked the SA in Rustans what does this oil do to the skin (though I already know but I want to be certain). She explained that it balances the skin's oil production and regains back the lost moisture on the dry patches of my face.

She also added that it works best if paired with the Toning Lotion with Iris, which is also for oily to combo skin. I told her I'll buy it next time but she insisted. Sensing that I couldn't purchase it (I don't have enough cash), she told me that she'll look for a sample.

Hallelujah! Such a kind-hearted SA. She gave me a 100-ml sample which she had saved for herself. Thank you good SA.

  • With the perfect duo set, she explained to me how to apply the Clarins way.
She also advised me to use this twice a week.

  • That night, I was so psyched to try it out. I cleansed my face with a mild cleanser from Physiogel, a drugstore brand cleanser which is really amazing too.

  • (I had to stop using Mario Badescu's Glycolic Foaming Cleanser because it was too strong for my skin already. I mentioned in my last blog that I use this everyday)

  • Suggested Usage from Clarins:
  • -Add two drops of Face Oil and warm between your hands.
  • -Press gently into skin on the cheeks, forehead, and neck.

  • The smell is like that of a spa. Minty and smells like herbal medicine but not too strong. The scent is actually very soothing. I applied it that night. My face looked oily and shiny but it's fine since I'm just at home. I then applied a sample of my Clarins Multi Active Youth Recovery Night Cream. You can even not apply any moisturizer since this oil does give your skin the moisture it needs.

  • Have you ever had that feeling that you are so excited to try stuff out that you can't sleep right and when you've tried it you can't wait to see the results? It takes weeks to months for the product to show it's magnificence but I just couldn't wait.

  • That morning, I hastily search for my mirror to check my face. I have a huge red pimple on my right cheek that after using the treatment overnight, that pimple looked quite dry and less painful.

  • What was so amazing too was my face became softer and velvety beneath my touch. The dry patches on my cheeks are no longer there! Just one night of use and I have seen brilliant results. I couldn't help touching my face but I should!

This is still my first week of use so I couldn't say more about it but if there are changes, I will surely update!

Here are some of my photos with these hideous scars!

Clarins UV PLUS High Protection Perfecting Cream BB Cream SPF 40

This BB Cream is the acme. It's the rave these days. I have tried a few BB Creams depending on my budget and the availability of the product here in my country (Philippines), but sad to say not any of those BB Creams have stolen my heart except for this one.

This is the only BB Cream my oh-so sensitive skin doesn't react to.

Perfecting Cream BB Cream SPF 40 - Clarins
BB

I have tried a lot of BB Creams. My first BB was from Maybelline then I shifted to The Faceshop and Skinfood, both Korean brands. It worked fine on my skin for many months. No tempestuous eruptions of zits. Rien! Pas du tout! Nothing at all! Surprisingly, my skin became so sensitive and it reacted to all the BB Creams that I used that I had to stop using it. I even tried MAC's Mineralize Satinfinish Liquid Foundation which broke me out dreadfully.

I was on the hunt for the right BB cream/Foundation for my touchy skin. I found L'oreal's tinted moisturizer. I thought this stuff will actually be my HG product but sadly, it was another wrong move.

While browsing through Clarins' channel on youtube, I saw this short french clip Vous avez dit BB? FR 1. I didn't really understand the whole thing but I just caught some words that were quite familiar to me (I'm studying French). It was quite a laugh when some of them answered Brigitte Bardot. Such a lovely lady you are. Elle est très belle!

                                                                      Brigitte Bardot

I have been a fan of Clarins since I started using their popular product, the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. My skin didn't react to this even though I've been using it for a while now which is good. And since then, my skin loves Clarins so everything that I am using now is under their line.

Clarins BB Cream came out in the stores last March 2013. In the U.S and European countries, they have their own version of their BB cream which is in a sleek red tube. They only have two shades and the shades are darker compared to the Asian version which has only one shade.

When this came I out, I bought this right away with my savings (Thank God I had saved money). I bought the larger one. I had a gut feeling this is the BB Cream that I have been looking for. I lay my credence on Clarins.

Next day, I tried it on and when I saw the results, I was utterly astonished.

The product covered some of my nearly-gone acne scars, skin redness, and blemishes! The look was more heightened when I applied my primer BFB. It gave me a dewy look which gave me a pleasant natural appearance. The shade suited my skin tone well.

One of the best part too is that it has SPF 40. Woohoo! My skin is so protected from the strong sun here in the Philippines.

Love this stuff to death. I kept on hearing a lot of compliments from my friends. They say there's an invisible bright light surrounding my face. This stuff makes you literally glow.

Almost a year has passed since I've been using this product. So far, no reactions!

I must add that you should apply a lightweight moisturizer, preferably a gel type to create a smooth canvas for the BFB and the BB cream to set in. I did a trial-and-error before I finding out how to really have that beautiful finish. I tried using it with a sponge but it was quite messy. I even bought a foundation brush from my local drugstore and used it but it left streaks.

I think because the BB cream has thick consistency that using a sponge and a brush didn't work. I haven't really tried applying the BB cream with other fancy brushes (too cher) or the Beauty Blender but if you do, you can leave comments down below.

Here are some photos that I took using my iPhone 4s.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm

Stressed? Didn't get any sleep the night before? This stuff will save you.

My first ever product from Clarins. It was a birthday present from my mom. Actually she gave me the money to buy anything I want and I chose this. Hehe

Cost: 2150 (Rustans) = $45 (Nordstrom)

*The
price is inclusive of tax, I think.

This is their new packaging.  It's slim and looks more modern.

And here is the old one. Quite fat, stubby and looks simple but I like the gold rim around the cap.

Details from Nordstrom:
The ideal beauty pick-me-up to erase signs of stress or fatigue. Great before an evening out or whenever you want to quickly refresh your appearance. For all skin types. Winner of Allure magazine's 'Best of Beauty' award for Best Instant Brightener, 2011 and 2012.

And this year too! Yehey!

Ingredients:
Witch Hazel, Olive Tree Extracts,
Algae Extract, Bisabolol, Rice Starch.

Not so much ingredients for a pricey product, eh?

There's this big shopping mall called Ayala Center here in Cebu and within that mall is another small store called Rustans that sell imported products. From clothes to jewelry to kitchen utensils and of course to cosmetics and skincare.

Sometimes, when I visit Rustans with no apparent reason I feel that I am just wasting my time ogling at costly items that I know I could never afford not unless I have a job that pays well.

I bought this product here. Their Clarins section is quite small. Just a counter with their testers and some cabinets and drawers for them to stock their goodies. They sell limited stocks, mostly skincare.

But I have never heard of Clarins not until my sister recommended me this product.

Desoleé, Clarins!

I began to be sentient about my looks, my skin, my everything. I have eyed my younger sister for many nights creating her concoctions for her facial rituals and since she does that every night, there was indeed a dramatic change in her skin. It glowed beautifully and she always look so fresh. Her skin became bright and I like looking at it.

She inspired me to do the same thing. I want my skin to look awesome too.

Before I purchased this, I read reviews and even watched youtube videos to see what it looks like when applied on the skin. I need to see for myself what this product can do. A product worth $50 is not cheap. What I should give myself for my 22nd birthday should be worth it.

I also searched for photos of women who used the BFB and this is what I've found. I don't go splurging money on something I am not sure of. I have to keep on searching before buying and once I'm satisfied with the data collected, I'll rush to the store and get it.

I have to get it. I cannot sleep if I can't have it. It will even haunt me in my sleep! How insane can a woman get?

I don't know about you guys but for me this woman's face, her name's Dommie (I have the link below where I got this photo), is actually glowing. Despite of her acne, she still looks beautiful and less dull-looking. I love this look.

I still want to look "me" and not someone else. I'm buying this look. Dewy face and pinkish lips - and this is good to go.

Since my mom gave me money for my birthday, I didn't hesitate to purchase the Beauty Flash Balm. I crossed my fingers, trusting the reviews from people, and Dommie's dewy face, and my sister's persistency to buy the product (because she would like to use it too. Ha!) that this stuff will really make my skin glow.

And here’s my own version! Okay. This is a photo taken a month ago. My apologies that it took me so long to write a review on this and my 21st birthday was two years ago.

My acne scars here were actually fading but these days, there are new pimples erupting again. I really have acne-prone skin which is really a huge problem for me.

In this photo, my dad and I are heading to the Oval track to jog.

The SA in Rustans Cebu Ayala told me to apply my daily cream or moisturizer first before the beauty flash balm. It will absorb more on moist skin. She also mentioned that I can use this as a mask at night, but I think it's too hefty so I don’t use it. Sorry but I can't say how this stuff works if used as a mask.

You only need a pea size of the product. It's enough to cover the entire face. Clarins has their own way of applying a certain product like the BFB. You squeeze a pea-size of the product on your palm and warm it up by slightly rubbing it between your palms then gently pat on your face down to your décolleté which is the low neckline.

Oh, by the way, do not rub vigorously. You'll mess the whole thing like white stuff peeling from your face.

I really like how dewy my face looked. My boyfriend likes this look too. What more could I ask for? Long-term use of this made my face soft and smooth. I don’t feel any tightness but I have observed that my pores looked smaller.

You can also apply immediately your BB cream or foundation or you can mix the BFB with it. Again, don't rub.

You can check my link Clarins UV PLUS High Protection Perfecting Cream BB Cream SPF 40 to see the what the results would look like with BB cream on top.

And this is me without the BFB. I look like a cat. Meow!

I'm the type of person who hates having too much make up on. I don't have a haul of different brand of cosmetics. I like the natural look. Even evening parties, I still go for a day-look make up.

I never experienced breakouts from this product so hooray for us sensitive-skinned women.

Ça c'est Vodkapomme

Bonjour a tous! Bienvenue mon blog!

Je surnomme est Vodkapomme! Ici, j'écrirai tout ce que je veux. I am not really eloquent in french but I'm going to drag myself there...someday. French is indeed the language that I would like to set my time on. I study in Alliance Française de Cebu here in Cebu, Philippines.

Prenez soin!

Sorry. I am running out of French words but I'm going to work double time on this.
